Paradise Datacom’s Indoor, High Power Rack Mount (R) series SSPAs represent the industry’s highest power density and most reliable high power amplifier systems.

The High Power Rack Mount SSPA employs a modular design, which allows quick and easy replacement in the event of a catastrophic failure of one of the SSPA components. These modular assemblies include: hot-swap SSPA modules, front and rear fan trays; and a rear panel controller card. These amplifiers are powered via a separate power supply chassis.

The power supply is configured as a n+1 redundant, hot swappable, power supply comprised of three modules. Only two modules are required to operate the HPA, therefore one module is redundant. In the event of a power supply module failure, the amplifier system will not fail. The module can then be changed without ever taking the HPA out of service.

Power Supply Options

The 7RU Chassis may be fitted with a variety of power supply options. The dual 1RU power supply configuration provides redundancy with all power levels; or may be used as a non -redundant supply by utilizing fewer power supply modules. The stand-alone 1RU power supply can be used to power the 750W C-Band or 400W Ku-Band chassis. The standard 3RU, three-module power supply offers redundancy for all power levels.

The long awaited SNG-2150C is finally here and is well worth the wait! The SNG-2150C is Avcom’s answer to the discontinued Tektronix 1705A with a feature set that is second to none giving the Satellite Technician a very useful tool for finding and peaking on satellites. The SNG-2150C also offers L.O. Frequency Offset which allows the operator to display the frequency in L-Band, C-Band, X-Band, Ku-Band or Ka-Band, or any custom band needed.

Improved Performance & Specifications
The new SNG-2150C was designed with excellent frequency and amplitude accuracy as well as a wide variety of resolution bandwidth selections ranging from 10kHz to 3MHz. This is required to allow for viewing and monitoring of small TT&C and data carriers found in many satellite communications markets today. The front panel has independent control of Frequency & Span with settings for Fine, Medium and Coarse to allow the operator to dial into the carrier and control the display as needed.

Versatile Graphical User Interface
The SNG-2150C can be monitored and controlled both locally from the front panel with the color LCD or remotely using the Avcom Graphical User Interface (GUI) via the serial or Ethernet ports. The remote GUI will allow for remote monitoring and control from anywhere in the world via the Internet. If used in a SNG truck the operator can use a high speed cellular broadband card to remotely monitor and control a truck anywhere in the world which is a necessity for assisting an inexperienced operator.

The unit includes RF gain control, a solid state pre-amplifier, cooling, and monitoring and control (M&C) system.

Rack space is conserved because the amplifier occupies only 4 rack units (7 inches) of a standard 19 inch rack cabinet. Nominal weight is 75 pounds.

The unit features a menu driven front panel display and RS-232/422/485 serial port interfaces for complete computer control.

RF, traveling wave tube, and default parameters are easily monitored on the 4-line front panel display.

Gain control is provided via the front panel or through the serial interface.

The XTRD-750K incorporates high efficiency, multi-stage collector TWTs. Reliability is enhanced because both prime power consumption and internal operating temperatures are reduced for both the linear and saturated modes of operation.

Power factor correction circuitry is also included which minimizes line current distortion and reduces the required Volt-Amps input.

The automatic features of the high frequency resonant conversion power supply include quick recovery from prime power outages and multiple helix fault resets (three fault cycles.)

Depending upon user requirements, the amplifier can be configured for either single thread or redundant system operation.
