Teledyne Paradise Datacom’s newly packaged High Power Outdoor GaN SSPAs offer the latest in High Power Microwave Amplifier Technology.

The SSPA package achieves the highest power density in the industry.

A full compliment of serial and parallel control is available via circular connectors. An optional hand-held controller provides an interface for immediate local control.

A state of the art thermal platform provides efficient cooling for the amplifier module and power supplies. This ensures the highest possible MTBFs for microwave power amplifiers.

The Paradise Datacom Compact Outdoor Solid State
Power Amplifier (SSPA)
is built for extreme environmental conditions and high reliability operation. Along with the robust construction exists the highest power density in the industry.

This allows solid state technology to be used in applications
that have long been reserved for TWTAs.

Starting at 44 lbs. (20 kg), and only slightly larger than a shoe

L-Band Operation

Teledyne Paradise Datacom offers C-, X-, and Ku-Band amplifiers with an integrated L-Band Block Up Converter. The L-Band units utilize Teledyne Paradise Datacom’s proprietary zBUCTM technology. The addition of a zBUC converter to a Compact Outdoor SSPA typically increases the gain by 2-4 dB. The advantages of zBUC technology include:

  • zBUC converters can detect and switch to an extenally supplied reference.
  • Optional internal high stability (10MHz) reference.
  • zBUC converters can lock to an externally supplied reference of 5, 10, 20, 25, or 50 MHz without modification.
  • zBUC converters can accept a wide range of external reference power (-10 to +5 dBm)
  • zBUC converters can accept FSK monitor and control signal via the IFL for complete amplifer remote control.

Paradise Datacom IBC Series IF to L-Band Up/Down Converter

Paradise Datacom’s IF to L-Band Up/Down Converter (IBC) is a self-contained (1RU) indoor chassis which can be configured as a single thread system or as a 1:1 Redundant System.

The frequency agile Upconverter translates an IF (70 MHz) frequency input signal to an L-Band frequency between 950 and 2050 MHz.

The frequency agile Downconverter translates a L-Band input signal between 950 and 2050 MHz to an IF frequency of 70 MHz.

The IBC is designed specifically as the perfect frequency interface that would transition a 70MHz base-band modem output to an L-Band frequency for a block converter. The IBC has two hot-swappable modules which can be removed without interrupting the chassis power. The IBC can also be configured with one up and one down converter module, two up converter modules or two down converter modules. The redundancy option can be utilized when configured with like converter modules.

System control is available through the front panel and via rear panel parallel I/O remote or serial I/O remote connectors.

Paradise Datacom 7RU Rack Mountable Solid State Power Amplifier

Paradise Datacom 7RU Rack Mountable SSPAs represent the industry’s highest power density and most reliable high power amplifier systems.

Paradise Datacom’s Indoor, High Power Rack Mount (R) series SSPAs represent the industry’s highest power density and most reliable high power amplifier systems.

The High Power Rack Mount SSPA employs a modular design, which allows quick and easy replacement in the event of a catastrophic failure of one of the SSPA components. These modular assemblies include: hot-swap SSPA modules, front and rear fan trays; and a rear panel controller card. These amplifiers are powered via a separate power supply chassis.

The power supply is configured as a n+1 redundant, hot swappable, power supply comprised of three modules. Only two modules are required to operate the HPA, therefore one module is redundant. In the event of a power supply module failure, the amplifier system will not fail. The module can then be changed without ever taking the HPA out of service.

Power Supply Options

The 7RU Chassis may be fitted with a variety of power supply options. The dual 1RU power supply configuration provides redundancy with all power levels; or may be used as a non -redundant supply by utilizing fewer power supply modules. The stand-alone 1RU power supply can be used to power the 750W C-Band or 400W Ku-Band chassis. The standard 3RU, three-module power supply offers redundancy for all power levels.

Paradise PD155i Satellite Modem/IP Router

The Paradise PD155i 155Mbps IP Satellite Modem/ Router offers an extensive range of network management and bandwidth optimization features.

A 4-port Gigabit Ethernet switch, advanced routing and Quality of Service protocols are supported as part of the feature-rich IP functionality.

Traffic shaping allocates bandwidth in a controlled manner between competing data streams. This allows data services — including the satellite portion of the link — to be fully provisioned end-to-end rather than being simply ‘best effort’.

Large bandwidth reductions are achieved using a range of data compression and acceleration techniques. Paired Carrier (incorporating ViaSat’s patented PCMA technology) can further halve satellite bandwidth requirements.

State-of-the-art forward-error-correction (FEC) technology includes Turbo and LDPC. Lowlatency FastLink LDPC is attractive for lowdata- rate links. Single/multistream DVB-S2 is also supported.

Embedded satellite and IP diagnostic tools are included and are the most sophisticated available on the market.

The PD155i is fully compatible with all other Quantum-series modems in IP closed modes.
