ATEME Kyrion DR8400 SD/HD MPEG-2/MPEG-4 Decoder

The Kyrion™ DR8400 is a Universal Integrated Receiver/ Decoder supporting all MPEG profiles including MPEG-4 4:2:2 10-bit and latest HEVC.

The DR8400 is designed for contribution markets where premium quality and performance are more important than ever.

The DR8400 gives by default 3 different input types: built-in DVB-S/S2 demodulator, IP Gigabit and ASI with a TS bit rate of up to 200Mbps. Combined with a decoding bit rate reaching 110Mbps with no compromise in CABAC, the DR8400 is addressing a large spectrum of contribution applications or primary distribution.

ADTEC Digital EN91P Contribution Encoder

The ADTEC Digital EN91P is an ultra-low delay 1080P MPEG 4 AVC/H.264 high definition encoder.

The ultra-low delay mode requires the use of Adtec’s RD70 IRD and delivers picture-to-picture services in 100 milliseconds; The EN91P standard delay mode is fully interoperable with other IRDs making it ideal for mission critical trunking and ad-hoc applications. MPEG 4 AVC/H.264 is significantly more efficient than JPEG making it the CODEC of choice for multiplexed and bandwidth sensitive applications; AVCs inherent interoperability significantly adds to the value of solutions based on this industry standard.

Ericsson RX8252 Program Transcoder

The Ericsson RX8252 Program Transcoder allows legacy systems to continue MPEG-2 operation whilst allowing the Programmer to distribute using MPEG-4 AVC compression by offering both dense and high quality transcoding from MPEG-4 AVC to MPEG-2.

Broadcasters and Programmers are continually looking to take advantage of technological advances that reduce their distribution costs. MPEG-4 AVC compression in conjunction with DVB-S2 satellite transmission is the perfect combination to achieve such transmission efficiency gains. However, many TV systems are locked into MPEG-2 technology for the foreseeable future by the deployed set-top box population.

The RX8252 Program Transcoder offers a high level of transcode density and sophistication. The RX8252 can be configured to enable up to 6 transcodes of any combination of HD to HD, HD to SD and SD to SD transcoding – allowing the programmer to address all tiers of service providers. In addition to video processing the RX8252 Program Transcoder also provides an unsurpassed level of flexibility in its network interfacing through a choice of service filtering and PID remapping capabilities.

Program content delivered over satellite is securely protected through the RX8252 Program Transcoder’s conditional access capabilities. ADTEC RD-60 High Definition Integrated Receiver Decoder (IRD)

The ADTEC RD-60 Integrated Receiver Decoder supports MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 AVC/H.264 platforms with 420 and 422 high and standard definition decoding.

The RD-60 decodes both MPEG 2 and MPEG 4 AVC/H.264 video with 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 chroma sampling. It boasts four pairs of stereo audio including MPEG 1 Layer 2, Dolby AC3/5.1, HE-AAC, AAC-LC audio decoding. Passthrough support includes PCM, DolbyE/2.0/5.1 and Linear Acoustic Stream Stacker. The RD-60 supports redundant AC or DC dual-power supplies, enhanced control and monitoring via SNMP and browser. Standard inputs include IP and ASI with optional dual DVBS/S2 tuner demodulator supporting Q/8PSK. An optional high end Newtec DVBS/S2 tuner demodulator supporting QPSK up to 32APSK is available.
