The Comtech EF Data CDM-750 Advanced High-Speed Trunking Modem was designed to be the most efficient, highest throughput, point-to-point trunking modem available. The CDM-750 accommodates the most demanding Internet Service Provider (ISP) and telco backhaul links by offering users the most advanced combination of space segment saving capabilities while minimizing the need for unnecessary overhead. With the ability to process packets at line speed, the CDM-750 will not throttle throughput due to processing limitations.
Beginning with the most efficient coding and modulation available, the CDM-750 leverages the DVB-S2 EN 302 307 LDPC/BCH standard to provide the best possible combination of coding and foreword error correction ensuring that the maximum amount of satellite traffic is transported for a given signal to noise capacity.
Implementing Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) operation (in packet-based applications) allows link margin to be converted to user capacity during non-faded conditions by taking advantage of the actual signal to noise ratio rather than calculated worst case signal to noise. This technology transforms link margin, implementation margin and margin for antenna pointing directly to improved throughput.
By using the best encapsulation methods, the CDM-750 further increases throughput by using minimal overhead. In G.703 synchronous mode, users can implement monitor and control over the satellite with no additional overhead. When using Ethernet bridge mode, less than 1% overhead is used for encapsulation.

| The Xicom XTD-450T1 series are compact, self-contained, antenna mountable power amplifiers designed for low cost installation and long life. |
|
XTD-450T1 Features
- 325 Watts C-Band
450 Watts X-Band
325 Watts Ku-Band
- Power Factor Corrected
- High Efficiency Dual-Stage TWT
- Microprocessor M&C Interface
- Forward Power Metering
- Optional Linearizer
The antenna mount design eliminates the need for an amplifier shelter as well as a long waveguide run between the amplifier and the antenna feed; for example, an antenna mounted 350 Watt amplifier with its shorter waveguide run will deliver EIRP compatible to a 600 Watt rack mounted HPA. RF filters, cooling, & monitoring and control systems are all self-contained within the HPA. These features provide high reliability, low maintenance costs, and low replacement costs.
The XTD-450T1 series incorporate high efficiency, dual-stage depressed collector TWTs. Some benefits of the dual-stage collector TWT are: reduced prime power consumption, lower internal operating temperatures, and reliability enhancement. These benefits are obtained for both the linear and saturated modes of operation. One of the features of the XTD-450T1 series is incorporation of power factor correction circuitry that minimizes line current distortion and reduces the required volt-amps. The combination of power factor correction and high efficiency TWT reduces input Volt-Amps by 45% when compared to equivalent amplifiers. A high frequency resonant conversion power supply is used that accepts a wide range of prime power (100 to 260 VAC). The automatic features of the power supply include quick recovery from prime power outages and multiple helix fault resets (three fault cycles).
A complete microprocessor monitoring and control system is built into the unit, including a RS-232/485 remote interface.
The XTD-450T1 series can be configured to single thread or redundant operation.
A remote external controller is available to operate the HPA from a user selected location. Mounting brackets can be supplied to mount the HPA to most popular antennas.

|
The XTD-400DBL series design eliminates the need for an amplifier shelter as well as a long waveguide run between the amplifier and the antenna feed horn; for example, an antenna mounted 350 Watt amplifier with its shorter waveguide run will often deliver EIRP comparable to a 600 Watt rack mounted HPA. RF filters, cooling, and monitoring & control systems are all selfcontained within the HPA. These features provide high reliability, low maintenance costs, and low replacement costs.
The XTD-400DBL series incorporates high efficiency, dualstage collector TWTs. Some of the benefits of this type of TWT are: reduced prime power consumption, lower internal operating temperatures, and reliability enhancement. These benefits are obtained for both the linear and saturated modes of operation. One of the features of the XTD-400DBL series is incorporation of power factor correction circuitry that minimizes line current distortion and reduces the required voltamps. The combination of power factor correction and high efficiency TWTs reduces input VoltAmps by 45% when compared to equivalent amplifiers. A high frequency resonant conversion power supply is used that accepts a wide range of prime power (100 to 260 VAC). The automatic features of the power supply include quick recovery from prime power outages and multiple helix fault resets (three fault cycles).
A complete monitoring & control system is built into the unit. Ten status and fault monitors are provided for external monitoring.
The XTD-400DBL series can be configured for single thread, redundant, phase combined, or linearized operation.
A remote external controller is available to operate the HPA from a user selected location. Mounting brackets can be supplied to mount the HPA to most popular antennas.

With the ability to overlay TX and RX carriers, Carrier-in-Carrier enables the operator to establish the perfect balance between bandwidth and power, enabling the best possible use of the satellite resource and reducing operating expenses (OPEX).
These technologies alone offer enormous savings to the ISP and telco operator. When used in combination, however, the savings are astronomical.
The innovative high-performance architecture of the CDM-750 allows efficient networking and transport over satellite links while supporting a wide range of applications and network topologies.

The L-Band input interfaces to standard modems operating in the 950 – 1450 MHz range.
Intended for outdoor operation, the XTS-40X-B1 eliminates the need for a separate shelter. The construction and light weight allows for direct mount to the antenna. This eliminates long waveguide runs and associated RF losses.
Forced air cooling is implemented in the package to allow reliable operation over extended temperature ranges. The monitor and control (M&C) interface provides a component system status.
The block upconverter operates from an external, weatherized power supply which provides the system DC sources.
The L-Band transmit signal and 10 MHz reference frequency are brought to the unit over a single coaxial line.
