VertexRSI 2.4M SM-LT Troposcatter Antenna

01/08/2010
The VertexRSI 2.4m SM-LT Troposcatter Antenna utilizes either a “conventional” C-Band (4.4 to 5.0 GHz) feed or a proprietary dual-beam Ku-Band feed (14.9 to 15.4 GHz) to provide high-quality, over-the-horizon communications.

In C-Band applications, space diversity is normally achieved using dual antennas in each terminal. For Ku-Band applications, a unique, patent-pending, dual-beam feed is incorporated to provide two closely-spaced beams in elevation to achieve angle diversity in the troposcatter link.

Engineered to stringent standards for multiple applications, the 2.4m SM-LT delivers performance suitable for multi-band satcom and troposcatter operation. Various modes and/or frequency bands of operation are readily accommodated via interchangeable feed packages, making the antenna truly field-configurable. In any operational mode or frequency band, antenna performance is outstanding, with high gain, low sidelobes and high crosspol and port-to-port isolation values. The use of carbon fiber technology and precisionmachined aluminum components provides the ultimate in transportability, wind performance and longevity in tactical environments.

With an integral azimuth over elevation cable drive and lower azimuth bearing, the antenna system is readily fitted to HMMWVs, trailers or transportable pallets. The 2.4m SM-LT is fully compatible with the industry-standard VertexRSI Model 123T Antenna Control System, which provides position control and tracking, as well as auto-deploy and auto-stow functionality for both troposcatter and satcom modes of operation.

VertexRSI 2.4m SM-LT Mobile Antenna

01/08/2010
The VertexRSI 2.4-meter Mobile Antenna is designed for worldwide transmit and receive operation in C, X, Ku and Ka-band.

This mobile antenna consists of a carbon fiber composite reflector and back beam mounted on a cable-driven, elevation-over-azimuth positioning system. This results in a low-weight antenna with superior stiffness and high performance under wind loading conditions.

The unique shape and the accurate reflector surface provide exceptionally low sidelobe and cross-polarization performance well within INTELSAT and EUTELSAT requirements. Repeatability is maintained with precision registration of the three reflector segments. A one-piece reflector is also available. The interchangeable feeds are palletized for quick, easy removal and replacement, allowing the end-user to effectively change frequency bands in the field within minutes.

VertexRSI C240MT 2.4M Trailer Mounted Satcom Terminal

01/05/2010
The VertexRSI C240MT 2.4-meter Trailer Mounted Satcom Terminal is designed for worldwide transmit and receive operation in C, X, Ku and Ka-band.

This mobile terminal consists of a 2.4-meter tracking antenna mounted on a rugged chassis equipped with a generator and environmentally controlled rack enclosure. This configuration results in a low-weight tow package with superior features and high performance under wind-loading conditions. The accurate reflector surface provides exceptionally low sidelobe and cross-polarization performance well within INTELSAT and EUTELSAT requirements. The interchangeable feeds are palletized for quick, easy removal and replacement, allowing the end-user to effectively change frequency bands in the field within minutes. HPAs can be boom mounted for minimal WG losses per the customer’s requirements. The onboard generator provides power to the UPS, ECU, and all the rack-mounted equipment located in the 38 rack-unit electronics enclosure. The entire terminal can be controlled through the M&C system as part of the 323T tracking controller (optional). The commercial 323T ACU provides auto-acquisition and several optional tracking algorithms including adaptive tracking in high winds.
