TheiDirect Evolution X5 is a next-generation satellite router, designed specifically to support business-critical applications.

The Evolution X5 features iDirect’s highly efficient implementation of the DVB-S2 standard with Adaptive Coding and Modulation (ACM) on the outbound carrier. Along with deterministic MF-TDMA technology and 2D 16-State FEC on the inbound, the Evolution X5 maximizes the efficiency of satellite capacity to enable new opportunities.

Avcom SNG-2500C Rack Mount Spectrum Analyzer

The Avcom SNG-2500C Rack Mount Spectrum Analyzer is a great answer to the discontinued Tektronix 1705A with a feature set that is second to none giving the Satellite Technician a very useful tool for finding and peaking on satellites.

The SNG-2500C is not only a spectrum analyzer, but also a carrier monitor with features such as carrier masking, screen shot capture and recording, Satellite ID, and Automated Data Acquisition (DAQ) with tolerance comparison and integrated email alerts only to name a few. The SNG-2500C also offers L.O. Frequency Offset which allows the operator to display the frequency in L-Band, C-Band, X-Band, Ku-Band or Ka-Band, or any custom band needed.

The new SNG-2500C was designed with excellent frequency and amplitude accuracy as well as a wide variety of resolution bandwidth selections ranging from 10kHz to 3MHz. This is required to allow for viewing and monitoring of small TT&C and data carriers found in many satellite communications markets today. The front panel has independent control of Frequency & Span with settings for Fine, Medium and Coarse to allow the operator to dial into the carrier and control the display as needed.

Terrasat Ku-Band C-Band X-Band BUC Block Up Converter

Terrasat is now offering their popular IBUC Intelligent Block Upconverter with an AC Input Power Option. Terrasat offers their popular IBUC in Ku-Band in power output levels from 4 – 80 watts, and C and X-Band in power output levels from 5 – 200 watts in single thread and redundant configurations complete with associated power supplies, interface units, and their innovative 1:1 protection systems. Their first-of-its-kind IP M&C interface is included as standard along with RS485/232, FSK and Hand Held Terminal interfaces.

The AC Input Power option makes integrating this unit with any IDU as easy as possible. We have recently retooled our configurator to include this option and in our Terrasat UberConfigurator, you can build your Terrasat BUC system with ease in either single thread or redundant configurations, in any of the frequencies, in any of the power levels, with external, internal, or AC Power supplies. We have made it simple for you so you do not have to worry about getting the right Transmit Switch, or the correct power supply, or the appropriate mounting hardware. Our engineers have designed the logic to make those decisions for you.

Norsat Announces New Spectrum Analyzer

The Norsat SA-RSSI is a standalone compact unit that comes with its own universal power supply, which can also power a Norsat LNB. The RSSI Spectrum Analyzer has a narrow L-band (950-1700 MHz) basic 10 MHz bandwidth, to aid the operator in locating and identifying the satellite. A satellite almanac tool is incorporated into the SA-RSSI-I for ease of satellite identification.
